Ghost Fleet Farm proudly presents

Horses available for adoption across the United States & Canada!

"Dedicated to the memory of my Arabian mare "Windy" stolen from her stall in 1979 at a Houston, TX boarding stable."

H.R. 6598, the Prevention of Equine Cruelty Act of 2008, was just introduced in the U.S. House of Representatives and the horses need YOUR VOICE to help pass this bill and protect them from the cruelty of slaughter.

Please contact your U.S. Representative and ask them to co-sponsor H.R. 6598, the Prevention of Equine Cruelty Act of 2008.

Call the Capitol Switchboard at 202-224-3121 and ask for your Representative’s office.
Here is a suggested script for conveying all of the necessary points to the legislative staffer:

"Hello, my name is [your name] and I live in [your town]. As a constituent, I'm calling to urge my Representative to co-sponsor a new important bill: H.R. 6598, the Conyers-Burton Prevention of Equine Cruelty Act, to prevent horses from being cruelly slaughtered for human consumption.”

Thank you for all you’re doing to end horse slaughter!  Together we can end this cruel and inhumane practice!

WHEN YOU ADOPT OR BUY A HORSE FROM A RESCUE YOU SAVE TWO LIVES!
The life of the horse you adopt plus you make room for the rescue to save another horse!
If you cannot adopt you can still volunteer or donate! $ 12.00 buys a sack of feed or $ 7.50 a bale of hay!

"the BLM is exploring options to exercise its legal authority to (1) sell older and certain other unadopted animals “without limitation” to any willing buyers and (2) euthanize those wild horses and burros for which no adoption demand exists."

This was a "copy and paste" of a statement from their website they have now changed the wording on it! Hmmmm.....

Now they say they have postponed their decision until the end of this year.... don't trust it!

Did you know that US horses are being shipped to Mexico and Canada for slaughter? Please write and call your congressman to support and co-sponsor Senate Bill S311 and HR 503 to prevent transportation and slaughter in foreign markets. Here is a link to the bill:
